Leonardo had his sketches and notes, I have my title rejects. Can the world ever hope to appreciate the hours (okay, minutes) that I spend agonizing over the title photo for each two-week cruising log? This one is the treeline reflected in the waters of the Dismal Swamp Canal.
Alas, the world is not ready for the powerful statement about beauty represented by these dirty bubbles of scum off our transon at the Great Mills Lock in the Dismal Swamp. Neither, I will admit, am I.
Boys, this here is the trawler Hattie H in the Great Mills Lock at the start of the Dismal Swamp Canal. A fine ship, and a decent photo, but I liked the one of the bridge in Charleston better.
Another runner-up, this one showing some of the docks at the Charleston Maritime Center...not quite as pretty as the shot of the bridge alone. |
